Where does the natural whey come from?
Ekopura whey comes from farms in southern Germany and the Alpine region. The cows graze there on rich Alpine pastures. An environment with clean air and a healthy atmosphere. As long as the temperature permits, the cows graze outside.
Does your whey come from grass-fed cows?
Yes, the cows mainly eat grass from the pasture all year round. If it gets too cold in winter, the cows go inside. There they are fed with grass silage and hay harvested during the summer months from the same healthy grasslands where the cows graze. In order to get enough nutrients in the winter, they are sometimes fed with grains. Absolutely no genetically modified products (GMOs).
Can the cows graze freely?
Yes, the milk for our whey comes from organic farms that care about the well-being of animals and nature. This is part of the basic principles of organic food.
The cows graze freely outside in the Alpine pasture as much as possible. Only when it gets too cold in winter they go inside where they stay in spacious stables.
What is the shelf life?
The shelf life is always stated on the back of the packaging, at the bottom. We guarantee a minimum shelf life of 12 months.
In reality, however, this is often longer because we produce regularly and have small stocks. It is therefore possible to purchase several products at the same time for a longer period.
How can I best store the products?
The products are best kept closed and at room temperature, out of direct sunlight and out of the reach of children. The ideal temperature is between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius.
How do you use Ekopura whey?
Mix 1 scoop of protein powder (+/- 25g) with 250ml of water, (nut) milk or juice to make a tasty shake or smoothie. You can use a blender or a shakebeker use.
What are the health benefits?
Ekopura whey promotes muscle recovery, muscle building and muscle maintenance. When you combine it with strength training, you will stimulate muscle growth and muscle recovery. When you combine it with endurance sports, you will stimulate muscle recovery. In addition, whey protein is good for strong bones.
Can you take it during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Yes, this product is a good supplement to get enough or extra protein, also during pregnancy. The whey protein is pure, unprocessed and organic. As a result, we can guarantee that there are no artificial additives, GMOs or other harmful substances in the product. If in doubt, consult a doctor
Is Ekopura Whey suitable for vegetarians?
Yes, because no animal enzymes are used in the production process. The enzymes used are microbiologically formed. The enzymes are formed under controlled conditions and are then removed from the whey again. By using these microbiologically formed enzymes, our product meets the requirements of vegetarians.
Contains Ekopura Whey Lactose?
Yes, Ekopura Whey contains a small amount of lactose. If you are allergic to this, we also offer Vegan Proteins that are lactose and allergen free.
Is the whey heated during production?
The organic milk is heated very briefly and minimally so that the proteins remain intact and not damaged. The milk is heated for a short period and then kept at 15ºC for about 20-60 seconds, after which the milk is cooled again. Our Whey is therefore bioactive and not denatured. Furthermore, only ultrafiltration takes place to ensure that the whey is completely clean.
Is it a whey protein concentrate or an isolate?
Ekopura whey is a protein concentrate (WPC 80). To make a whey isolate, which increases the protein content by 10%, an additional process is needed that removes some very useful substances from the whey. For example, vitamins and minerals, but also lactoferrin and immunoglobin that contribute to the health-enhancing properties of whey protein. For that reason we have decided to treat the whey as little as possible and to use only WPC 80.
